UPDATES ON COVID-19

As we begin the reopening process here at Water’s Edge, we hope that you and your family are healthy and safe.  We are all looking forward to welcoming you back to the resort over the coming weeks and want to provide you with information to help you plan your visit.

As we slowly reopen the resort things may look a little different than they have in years past as we implement and adhere to the States guidelines.   Some areas of the resort will be required to operate with a limited guest capacity. While we understand that these limitations to some areas of the resort may be inconvenient, we look forward to increasing their capacities once we are allowed.  Our goal is the safety and well-being of our guests as well as the health of our dedicated staff members.

Below are the reopening guidelines we will have in place. While the State Guidelines provide a way for the resort to reopen in as safe a manner as possible, risks to guests and employees cannot be fully mitigated. Guests who choose to visit the resort at this time should be fully aware of potential risks.

Connecticut Travel Advisory
Anyone traveling into Connecticut from a state that has a new daily positive test rate higher than 10 per 100,000 residents or a state with a 10% or higher positivity rate over a 7-day rolling average are directed to self-quarantine for a 14-day period from the time of last contact within the identified state.  To see a list of states currently include in the Travel Advisory please check the Connecticut State Website.

Face Masks
All staff members will wear face masks while at work.  Guests will be required to wear face masks or cloth face coverings while at the resort in public areas, except when eating or drinking in one of our restaurants, or unless doing so would be contrary to his or her health or safety due to medical conditions.  We will update our face mask policy in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the CDC and the State of Connecticut.

Hand Washing and Sanitizing
We have added Hand Sanitizing Stations in our public spaces for easy access by guests and staff members.  Signage about proper hand washing is posted in all restrooms as reminder to guests and staff members.

Social Distancing
We ask that all guests practice social distancing throughout the property by staying at least six feet away from other guest not traveling with them.  We have setup physical markers in areas where lines typically form to assist guests in maintain appropriate spacing.

Increased Cleaning Procedures
Our Housekeeping Team will be increasing cleaning and disinfecting measures throughout the property.  The frequency of cleaning and disinfecting in all areas will be increased, including our public spaces, restrooms, gym, and other high touch areas around the property. Elevator buttons will be cleaned and disinfected frequently.  Stairwells, handrails and doors being cleaned frequently throughout the day.

Arrival, Valet and Bell Service
At this time vehicle valet service will not be provided in accordance with State Guidelines, there is abundant complimentary self-parking available at the resort. Bell Service will be available at the Main Entrance of the Hotel for luggage delivery to the door of your room.  Staff will be disinfecting our bell carts after each use.  The Hotel will not store luggage for guests, in an effort to limit the contact between luggage from different parties.

Hotel Guests
We will be using every other check-in station to allow for social distancing when you arrive and will be disinfecting keys between guests.  We ask that only one member of your party comes to the lobby to check-in to allow adequate space for social distancing while when waiting in line.

Room Service is available and will be delivered to rooms “Take Out Style” in disposable containers with disposable utensils.

Daily Housekeeping service is not available at this time, but we are happy to deliver amenities like extra pillows or towels to your room upon request.  To allow for a more thorough cleaning between guests we have removed all magazines, books, bed scarves, and decorative pillows from our rooms.  State Guidelines have also required the removal of non-essential amenities including pads, pens, pamphlets, and coffee makers.

In the event that a staff member needs to enter your room, it is required that all guests exit the room to allow our staff the space to safely perform the required tasks.

Hotel Check Out is at 11:00am, Late Check Outs will not be available to provide our housekeeping staff with the required time to clean our rooms.

Restaurants and Bars
Guests are able to dine at any of our three restaurants during their stay, capacity at our restaurants will be limited to 50% in accordance with State Guidelines with a minimum spacing of 6 feet between tables.  Our servers will be wearing masks and gloves when coming to your table and will be changing gloves frequently throughout their shift.  Guests are required to wear masks in our restaurants except when eating or drinking.

For guests planning to dine at Dattilo Fine Italian we recommend making reservations in advance via OpenTable or by phone at 860-399-5901 ext. 2021.

The Seaview Bistro and Sunset Bar and Grill will seat guests first come, first serve.  In the event there is a wait to enter either restaurant, we ask that guests maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet while waiting in line.

We have added Plexiglass around our bars to allow guests to enjoy seated bar service or guests can enjoy drinks when seating in our restaurants and delivered by a server.  At this time we are still unable to provide standing drink service to guests from our bars.

Elevators
We ask that guests limit the occupancy of our elevators to one family group.  Elevator buttons will be cleaned and disinfected frequently.  Guests are also able to use the stairs to get to their rooms if they choose.  Stairwells, handrails and doors will be cleaned frequently throughout the day.

Fitness Center
Guests visiting our fitness center are required to wear a mask while exercising and must maintain 6 ft of space from other guests. Occupancy in the fitness center cannot exceed 50% of the normal capacity.  The use of water fountains is restricted to water bottle filling only.

Indoor Pool & Locker Rooms
The capacity of our indoor pool has been limited to the number of people that can safely fit on the pool deck area while maintaining the 6 ft social distance guideline, including 3 ft wide walking paths.  Guests will be required to wear face masks while in the indoor pool area except while swimming.

Sauna and Steam Rooms
In accordance with State Guidelines our Sauna and Steam Rooms are closed at this time.

Outdoor Pool and Beachfront
The capacity of our outdoor pool has been limited to the number of people that can safely fit on the pool deck area while maintaining the 6 ft social distance guideline, including 3 ft wide walking paths.  Guests will be required to wear face masks while in the outdoor pool area except when seated or while swimming.

Chairs on the beach will be spaced 6 ft between groups not traveling together. Guests will be required to wear face masks when walking within the beach area except when seated or while swimming.

Water Sport Rentals will not be available at this time.

Lawn Games and Organized Activities will not be available at this time.

Tennis Courts
The resort has two US Open equivalent tennis courts, however only one court at a time will be available for play.  Guests can reserve access to the court at our Gift Shop.  Tennis rackets are available to borrow and will be sanitized between each guest.  Tennis Balls are available for purchase at the Gift Shop.

Menu
